Can Early College students participate in home school activities?

Yes, Early College students will have the opportunity to participate in high school activities.  Early College students will begin and end their school day on the high school campus.  This will allow students to remain a part of their home high school and to easily participate in after-school activities.

How many college credits can be earned?

Students will have the opportunity to earn up to 30 college credits with a full year’s participation. Students who enter the program as juniors have the opportunity to earn their Associate of Arts degree (60 credits) prior to graduating from high school. Why should a student participate?

  1. Get a head start on college by completing college credits while still in high school.
  2. Have the support of an on-site Volusia County teacher at the Early College site.
  3. Have free transportation to and from the college campus. Busses arrive at the college by 10:00 AM and return students to their home high school by 2:45 PM.
  4. Save approximately $2500 per year (estimated costs include college tuition and textbooks).

Will classes operate on the same calendar as the high school?
